Jo had the opportunity to spend a few days on Viking Sky and just loved it! “Like all the Viking ships Sky has a cosy Viking Living Room at its heart. The calm neutral Scandinavian style décor created a restful atmosphere in which to mix and mingle.
We are all used to and indeed anticipate and expect a high standard of service on any cruise ship and naturally the staff on Sky did not disappoint. Room service, what a treat especially when it is complimentary. Viking seem to relish and like alfresco dining as much as I do, there were plenty of opportunities to eat outside rather than being confined behind glass when the sun is shining. A ship with a promenade deck what a relief. It may sound silly but many do not have promenade decks now which is a real shame. I swam in the Infinity pool, sampled the burgers at the Pool Grill, had afternoon tea in the Winter Garden and was treated to dinner not only in The Restaurant but in Manfredi’s and a stunning tasting menu in the Chef’s Table
The two things that surprised and delighted more than nearly anything else? Returning to my stateroom after a fairly long day in Rome to find a tray of sandwiches, cookies and fruit – just in case I was hungry. And, the cabin steward had thoughtfully popped a bookmark in my novel replacing the scrap of paper I had hastily shoved in that morning. It’s those little things that make the difference”.
